Enrollercoaster is run by one person — an uncle, not a company. I built nycsoccerleagues.com first, mainly to make it easier to find a rec soccer league in New York without digging through a dozen club websites. It worked well enough that people actually used it.
Then my sister and brother-in-law started asking the same kind of question about everything else — swim lessons, a gymnastics class, something to do with the kids on a Saturday. Finding kids' classes and events in NYC meant checking a dozen different provider sites, each with its own calendar, its own way of showing what's open. So I pointed the same technology at that problem instead.
Enrollercoaster now tracks more than 17,000 classes and hundreds of family events across all five boroughs. The list is refreshed every morning, and registration status — open, waitlist, or closed — is read straight from each provider's own booking system, not guessed.
How the data works
Every listing here comes from a provider's own public schedule or an official city feed — nothing about a class is invented. "Open," "waitlist," and "closed" are whatever status the provider's own system reports at the time we check, refreshed daily, so always confirm on the provider's own site before you plan around one. When we don't know something — an age range, a price — we leave it blank instead of guessing. Every card links straight through to the provider's own page, and the "Report an issue" link on each card comes straight back to me, the person actually running this.
