Ages. Every program here accepts at least part of the preschoolers range (ages 3–5); the list leads with the classes built for this age and finishes with those that only touch it at the edge.
Where the open spots are. By neighborhood, the most enrichment and STEM programs for preschoolers with open registration today are in Ridgewood (10 open), Bellerose (2 open), Upper West Side (1 open), Harlem (1 open), and Park Slope (1 open). Neighborhood counts change daily as providers open and close sessions.
Enrichment and STEM classes in NYC cover coding, robotics, science labs, engineering with LEGO, math, cooking and languages, most of them for school-age children and a smaller set for preschoolers. Sessions are typically 60 to 90 minutes, run as a weekly term or a school-break camp, and are hands-on: building, experimenting or making something each session. Class sizes are small, materials and laptops are usually provided, and many programs sort children by grade rather than age. A trial class or a single-week camp is the easiest way to test a subject before committing to a full term. Ages 3 to 5 is where most programs start taking children without a caregiver in the room: classes stretch to 45 minutes, follow a set structure, and begin teaching real technique. Separation is the main adjustment for a child new to classes; many providers allow a parent to watch from the side for the first few sessions.
17 of the 24 enrichment and STEM programs for preschoolers we track across NYC are open for registration as of Oct 28, 2026. Status is read from each provider's own registration system every morning.
The typical listed price is $123, and most of the 17 priced programs fall between $123 and $160. Prices are as published by each provider and may cover one session, a month or a full term.
Usually yes, if the child's age falls inside the range the provider publishes. On this page the classes built specifically for ages 3–5 are listed first; those that only overlap the edge of the range come last, so check the age chip on each card.
