What to expect from a kids' enrichment class for teens

Teen programs (12 to 17) are fewer than for younger kids but more serious: competitive teams, advanced-level classes, pre-professional tracks and fitness programs. Many run by tryout or placement rather than open enrollment, and several of the providers listed here also take teens into their adult beginner classes, which is worth asking about when a teen class is full.
